Osteria Italia
This is one of the oldest and historic tavern in Italy. It’s located in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, in the Alba district (CN) reachable in 5 minutes by car and they are also in Barbaresco Docg area. From Osteria, you can easily reach, in a few minutes, Treiso, Tre Stelle, Barbaresco, Neive and the most important wine cellar of this territory.

Osteria Italia was mentioned by Fenoglio (Alba, March 1 1922- Turin, February 18 1963) Italian writer, partisan, translator and playwright and it was also mentioned on old scriptures of Alba. It’s a tavern situated in the heart of Barbaresco production area, a typical place of Langhe hills., an ideal place where you can find the real piedmontese cuisine.

Renato and Marina manage it with great passion for years.

Marina illustrates: “I do this job for love, two ways of love: first of all because I met my husband 8 years ago while I was doing another job, he asked me if I wanted to change my work and my life too. The second one is that I really love this job, I love staying with other people, I like to explain local cuisine and local wines, Renato in the kitchen and me in the dining hall.”

Renato explains “Here, in the Osteria, we propose important dishes like fassone meat tartare, veal with tuna sauce, two key points, tagliolini, ravioli, and for main meals cheek lard cooked with Barbaresco wine, baked bovine’s chuck, rabbit and all courtyard animals that are very good to eat. In the desserts we have our classica hazelnut cake, the bunet (typical cocaa and amarettos dessert), the nougat with Gianduja chocolate cream and tiramisu, most famous dish in the world and about that we say it was born in Piedmont.”

The ingredients for success are the spontaneity, the tradition, the taste, the passion, the research and the fantasy. We suggest to reserve the table and we remind ypu that it’s closed on Monday.
